REGION KALEICI (THE OLDTOWN): – heart of touristic Antalya, its oldest part, carefully treasuring all traces of 22 centuries of its history. Kaleici is unusually picturesque, surprising and organically combines the architecture of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman cultures. Hotel “Eski Masal” is located in the heart of Kaleici, close to the main attractions of the old town. The most famous are the following:
TRIUMPHAL ARCH OF HADRIAN: – the oldest monument of the Roman period, built in 130 AD. It is a three-arch gate with ornate marble columns.
HIDIRLIK TOWER: – attraction of Roman period. It is expected that in the 2nd century AD the tower played the role of a lighthouse or served as a defensive function.
MINARET IYVLI: – eponymous mosque was built in the 13th century. Its pink minaret 38 meters height is a striking example of early Islamic architecture. It can be seen from almost anywhere in the city and is a symbol of Antalya
MOSQUE MURAT PASHA AND MOSQUE OF TEKELI MEHMET: – the main attractions of the Ottoman era, the history of which dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries respectively.
MOSQUE ISKELE: is located on the shore of yachting harbor and was built in the late 19th century. The construction of the mosque is based on 4 pillars, between each of them the spring water beats out of the earth. There is a tradition: it is necessary to throw a coin into it, and the dream will come true.
CLOCK TOWER: – built in the 19th century as a part of the fortifications of the old town. Later there was a clock fixed on it.
OLD PORT: – starting from the 2nd century BC and until the 20th century AD sailing merchant vessels sail out to the sea from this port. In the 80’s the old port became the marina and acquired the yacht club. The port is very authentic, it surprises by stylized ships and modern yachts. On the shore of the port there are many restaurants and cafes.
